Pick a specific model instead of Smart Routing

Override the router and send your prompt to one named model. What happens when that model is unavailable, and why Keenoble refuses to substitute silently.

Draft — not yet walked in the live product

All 5 steps below were written by reading the Keenoble source rather than by performing them, and each unwalked one is tagged [UNVERIFIED]. Reading a component tells you what a control is labelled; it does not prove the control is reachable, that the order is right, or that the result is what the text says. Until a reviewer has walked every step, this page is excluded from the sitemap, marked noindex, and publishes no structured data.

Before you start

  • A signed-in account. Model picking is disabled for guests, and the picker says so rather than pretending to work.

Steps

  1. In Chat, find the routing selector directly above the message box. By default it is set to Smart Routing. [Unverified]

  2. Click it to open the model list. Models are grouped by provider, each with a short description and a cost tier tag — “Cheap”, “Balanced”, “Premium” or “Ultra”. [Unverified]

  3. Type in the search box to narrow the list, then click the model you want. The dropdown closes and the selector shows your choice. [Unverified]

  4. Send your prompt as normal. The receipt on the answer will say “You picked this model.” [Unverified]

  5. To go back to letting the router choose, reopen the selector and choose Smart Routing again. [Unverified]

Models that are shown but not selectable

Some rows are visible but disabled, with the reason on the row: “API key missing”, “Not available”, “Coming soon”, or “Restricted”. Showing them greyed out with a reason is deliberate — a model that quietly vanished from the list would be a worse answer than one that tells you why it is out.

If the model you had picked becomes unavailable, the selector resets itself to Smart Routing rather than failing your next send.

If your pick fails mid-request

You get a message saying the model is unavailable right now, and a “↺ Retry with Auto” button. Keenoble does not quietly answer with a different model when you named one — that is the no-silent-substitution rule, and the retry button is the explicit way to take the fallback.
